If you're looking for anything Asian ingredient-wise, I'm sure you can find it here. I just ran in for a quick trip and didn't explore much of it but they had a bunch of Lunar New Year stuff out on display. The store itself looks pretty old and the floors are questionable but I saw a bunch of spices/pastes, frozen banana leaves, and Asian ingredients used for cooking. They have coconuts, longan, and other fruits. There's also some shops outside that have jewelry like jade and gold for sale. If you're looking for any of those viral fruit ice creams, you definitely won't find them here, but they do have boba ice cream! It's like your traditional Asian grocery. Not the cleanest, but worth a trip inside to see what's available.
I've been shopping at the Hiep Thai since they opened, and I keep coming back because of their vast selection of quality Thai ingredients. You can always get general Thai ingredients at the larger Asian supermarkets like H Mart, but if you want 12 options for green curry paste, or sardines in Thai Curry, or frozen Kefir lime leaves - the Hiep Thai is where you need to be. It's chaotic on weekends, you can smell the fish market (not a bad smell, but detectable) and it can be disorganized and a little messy, but that's part of the charm of a real ethnic supermarket. 4 reliable and authentic Asian market stars
I have been going to Hiep Thai for years and I love the fishy smell! They have the best French bread loaves ever. I am originally from MD and I have always been able to find fresh crabs and my favorite "Rock fish." (striped Sea Bass). To ensure that you buy the freshest Blue crabs get there on the day they arrive and make sure the crabs are feisty! If they try to get you with their claws they are fresh. Use a device to pick them up because if they grab your fingers they don't let go easily and it hurts. I have bought a lot of items in the seafood and meat area and have always come away happy. Never any trouble at checkout.
